Effortless Lips launched with three shades in October 2023. By Ravie’s first birthday in October 2024, the range had grown to nine. The shade logic across all nine is the through-line that holds the family together.

The formula is the anchor. Effortless Lips is a hybrid between a lipstick, a balm, and a gloss. It feels like a balm, builds like a lipstick, and finishes like a gloss. Every shade was chosen so a customer can wear it sheer for everyday, build it up for more saturation, or layer it over a liner for a defined lip combo. The naming convention is flowers. All nine shades carry flower names because flowers are Allie’s favorite thing and the names give a customer a starting point before swatching.

The Original Trio: Dahlia, Tulip, Lily

Dahlia is a mauve pink. It is Ravie’s bestselling shade and the one Allie wears most often. The mauve undertone reads as a soft, defined lip on most skin tones without committing to a strong color. Dahlia sits closest to Allie’s natural lip color, which is the lips-but-better baseline she wanted the brand to lead with.

Tulip is a brighter pinky-red, the shade Allie has called the one that brings life to the face. It looks like a spring or summer shade at first glance, but a deeper cognac brown liner transforms Tulip into a cherry-cola fall lip. That versatility is the point.

Lily is a peachy pink nude. The most neutral of the launch trio, for the customer who wants color back on the lip without it reading as makeup. Lily layers well over a lip liner and softens the read of any deeper pigment underneath.

The Signature Trio: Peony, Poppy, Rose

In summer 2024, the range expanded by three. The brand calls this the Signature Trio because each shade adds a stronger pop of color than the originals.

Peony is a petal pink. Allie has called it similar in spirit to Dahlia, where both function as a lips-but-better shade, but Peony is a truer petal pink and Dahlia is mauve. Customers often come back saying Peony has become their new Dahlia.

Rose is a true red. The most statement-forward shade in the original lineup. The formula is sheer enough that a single layer reads as a stained-red rather than a full classic red, and Rose builds up through multiple layers for a saturated finish. Allie pairs Rose with a brown mascara because the brown softens the eye against the red lip more flatteringly than a true black would.

The Classic Trio: Daisy, Zinnia, Verbena

On October 10, 2024, Ravie’s first birthday, the brand completed the range with three more shades. The three are 90s-inspired browny nudes, the gap Allie had been chasing since the original launch.

Daisy is the lightest nude in the range. A pinky-peach lighter than Lily, formulated to give a muted lip look without washing the face out. Daisy is the shade Allie reaches for when the eye is doing the work and she wants the lip to recede. It also doubles as a mixer. Add a touch of Daisy to Poppy and the coral tones down into a soft muted peach. Add Daisy to Verbena and the deep berry-brown lightens into a wearable berry-nude.

Zinnia is the mauve brown. The shade Allie has called the one she wanted in her own collection for years and could not find. A proper mauve, but with brown mixed in so it never reads cool or washed out. Up to this launch, Dahlia was the most mauve shade in the range. Zinnia sits deeper, more cool, and slightly more grounded thanks to the brown.

Verbena is the deepest shade in the range. A brown berry, named after the verbena flower for its purple undertone. Customer reviews kept asking for a berry or a brown-berry shade. Allie did not want a straight berry. The brown grounds the berry into something that wears as an everyday color on deeper skin tones and as a statement lip on fair ones.

Why nine, not three or six

The brand did not extend to nine all at once. The original three covered the everyday lip question. The signature three added pop-of-color territory. The classic three closed out the brown-nude gap that Allie had been working on quietly across the whole development cycle. Each trio earned its slot because the gap was real.

A shade does not get added for the sake of newness. It gets added because Allie wears it, because the family had a gap it could fill, and because the formula holds at that pigment level.
